More than 380 participants attended our 2nd Trade4U webinar Brexit’s first results: Findings and lessons, organised on 22 April 2021, in cooperation with our partners the Federal Public Service Foreign Affairs, Flanders Investment & Trade (FIT), Wallonia Export & Investment Agency (AWEX), and hub.brussels.

We thank HE Alexander De Croo, Prime Minister of Belgium, for his introduction to this webinar as well as our guest speakers for their contribution: Mr Jeroen Sarrazyn (Brexit Coordinator, Belgian Customs), Mrs Tine Vandervelden (International Business Manager, Fevia), Mrs Marie Desrousseaux (Policy Advisor, Febetra), and Mr Ward Minnaert (Expert Brexit, International Commerce Department FPS Economy).

Since January 1, 2021, Brexit has become a reality amid a global pandemic crisis. Some analysts argue that countries like Belgium's bilateral trade with the United Kingdom was not affected as much as feared, while others observe a sharp decline in bilateral trade. What is the real situation? What should exporters pay more attention to and what points merit further political negotiations or direct intervention?
